Before you order
- Confirm your bulb size and factory headlight package.
- Some vehicles may require CANBUS or anti-flicker modules.
- Some LED/HID upgrades may be intended for off-road, show, auxiliary, or permitted-use applications only. Check local laws before using upgraded forward lighting on public roads.

DDM Tuning Plus HID
The premium DDM HID kit for cleaner compatibility support.
The DDM Tuning Plus HID Conversion Kit pairs DDM Ultra HID bulbs with premium DDM Plus ballast options. Compared with the standard Ultra kit, the Plus kit is the preferred choice when the vehicle is more sensitive to HID startup behavior, CANBUS needs, flicker, or bulb-out monitoring.
Plus vs Ultra
Same Ultra HID bulbs, upgraded ballast path
The Plus kit and Ultra kit both use DDM Ultra HID bulbs. The Plus kit steps up to DDM Plus ballast hardware, with CANBUS Plus options available for vehicles with picky headlight electronics. It is the preferred DDM HID path when compatibility support is the priority.
Plus Ballasts
Premium ballast behavior for smoother HID operation
The DDM Plus ballast is the premium ballast option in this HID lineup. It is designed for efficient startup behavior, stable operation, and better compatibility on vehicles with sensitive headlight electronics, flicker, misfire, or warning-light behavior.
Plus ballasts include RF feedback protection with an integrated ferrite bead before the igniter to help reduce radio-static issues.
Why this matters: The ballast is the heart of an HID kit. A better ballast can make the difference between a clean install and a setup that needs extra troubleshooting.
Power Support
Use a relay harness when the vehicle needs cleaner startup power
A relay harness can help when factory wiring cannot consistently supply the startup current needed by an HID system. Symptoms can include intermittent startup, one side not firing, or lights shutting off after being turned on.
Relay harness support is especially helpful for sensitive wiring, ATV or auxiliary applications, and setups where the vehicle's original circuit is not a strong match for HID startup behavior.
Install note: Relay harnesses depend on clean grounds, secure battery power, and fully seated connectors. Poor grounds are one of the first things to check during HID troubleshooting.
Ultra HID Bulbs
Quartz-glass HID bulbs with controlled capsule alignment
The Plus kit uses DDM Ultra HID bulbs designed around clear quartz glass, UV coating, and controlled capsule alignment. HID bulb alignment matters because the arc position must sit where the housing expects the light source to be.
This is the same DDM Ultra HID bulb family used in the standard Ultra kit. The Plus upgrade is about pairing those bulbs with the higher-level Plus ballast setup.
Orientation note: H11A vs H11B and H7A vs H7B selection can affect return-wire position and beam shape. Review the A/B bulb guide if that applies to your bulb size.
Color Selection
Pick the HID color for the application
DDM Plus HID kits are offered in 3000K yellow, 4500K original white, 5500K pure white, and 6500K sky blue. Yellow is commonly selected for fog applications, while the white options are more common for headlight projector conversions.
Higher-wattage HID setups can make the selected color appear warmer in real use, so choose the color with the final installed look in mind.
BRI Source note: The brightest-looking choice is not always the best fit. Housing condition, beam control, and color preference all affect the real result.
CANBUS Support
Choose CANBUS support when the vehicle calls for it
Some vehicles monitor or pulse the headlight circuit. That can cause flicker, warning messages, startup issues, or lights shutting off. The CANBUS Plus ballast option is intended for vehicles that need stronger error-canceling or DRL-friendly support.
This is where the Plus kit earns its place: when compatibility matters more than simply buying the lowest-cost HID kit, Plus gives you the better ballast platform to work from.
