Before you order

  • Confirm your bulb size and factory headlight package.
  • Some vehicles may require CANBUS or anti-flicker modules.
  • Some LED/HID upgrades may be intended for off-road, show, auxiliary, or permitted-use applications only. Check local laws before using upgraded forward lighting on public roads.
Morimoto Elite HID kit installed in a late-model truck headlight

Morimoto Mopar-Spec Elite HID Kit

Built for picky 2015+ Mopar headlight circuits.

The Mopar Morimoto 2.0 Elite HID kit is designed for select Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram applications where a normal HID kit can flicker, shut off, or trigger lamp-out behavior because the factory headlight circuit is heavily monitored.

Why this kit exists

Late-model Mopar lighting circuits can be unusually sensitive

Many 2015+ Mopar vehicles do more than simply send power to the headlight bulb. The vehicle may monitor resistance, pulse the circuit, or cut power when it sees something other than the factory halogen load. That is why basic HID ballasts, generic CANBUS claims, or simple plug-in adapters can be unreliable on these applications.

This Mopar-specific Morimoto kit pairs the HID components with a dedicated wiring and electronics setup built to help the factory circuit behave normally while the HID system receives stable power.

Morimoto Mopar-specific HID relay harness and conversion components

Mopar-spec wiring

The harness is the reason this kit is different

The Mopar-spec relay harness uses sealed dual 40A relays, 14-gauge stranded copper wiring, and durable black tech-flex mesh so the wiring looks clean once installed.

Instead of relying on the factory headlight wiring to power the HID ballasts directly, the harness lets the factory circuit trigger the kit while the ballasts receive stable power through the dedicated wiring.

Why this matters: On these vehicles, the wiring support is not an optional afterthought. It is what helps prevent flicker, shutoff, and lamp-out behavior that can happen with generic HID setups.

Resistors and capacitor link

Built to calm down the factory headlight signal

The Mopar-specific setup includes calibrated support electronics to help deal with factory circuit monitoring and pulsed power behavior. The anti-flicker capacitor link helps smooth the headlight signal before the HID system is triggered.

The goal is a more stable HID startup and run state without cutting or splicing the vehicle wiring when the correct kit and adapters are selected.

BRI Source note: Good grounds are critical. If a ground point is painted, corroded, loose, or poorly placed, even the right harness can behave inconsistently.

XB35 / 35W system

OEM-style HID power with better support electronics

This Mopar-specific kit is centered around the Morimoto XB35/35W HID platform. The 35W setup is the right fit for most customers because it is closer to OEM HID power levels, runs cooler than high-wattage systems, and keeps the focus on reliability.

The Morimoto 2.0 generation uses updated ballasts, quality HID bulbs, and separate igniters so the system is easier to service and troubleshoot than all-in-one ballast designs.

Simple answer: If you are shopping this Mopar kit, the priority is not maximum wattage. The priority is getting a stable system that works with the vehicle electronics.

Bulb and adapter selection

Choose the bulb size and input adapter carefully

The Mopar Elite HID kit is configured around selectable HID bulb sizes for low beam, high beam, and fog light positions. Some H11-style setups may also require input adapters depending on the original plug and selected bulb orientation.

Do not guess from appearance alone. Confirm the factory bulb size, connector style, and whether the vehicle uses a single-beam or dual-beam headlight setup before ordering.

Application note: Dual-beam bulbs such as 9004, 9007, 9008, or H13 use a different HID path than a single-beam Mopar low beam setup.

Morimoto HID color temperature comparison

Color selection

Pick a color that matches how you drive

For this Mopar kit, common color choices include warm white, pure white, and cool white options depending on the selected bulb size. Warmer colors tend to be better in poor weather, while neutral white is the most popular modern look.

Cooler white options can look sharper, but higher Kelvin choices usually trade away some usable intensity compared with warmer or neutral HID colors.

Color note: Actual HID color can vary by projector or reflector design, lens condition, voltage, bulb age, and break-in time. Replace HID bulbs in pairs for the closest color match.

Install planning

Test the system before final wire routing

Plan ballast placement, harness routing, ground points, and dust cap pass-through before locking everything down. Many HID installs require a clean dust cap pass-through hole so the bulb wiring can seal correctly with the supplied grommet.

Connect and test both sides before final zip ties. If one side does not start, swap components side to side to isolate whether the issue follows the bulb, ballast, igniter, harness, or vehicle-side connection.

Install tip: On sensitive vehicles, small wiring details matter. Fully seated connectors, clean grounds, and a clean harness route can be the difference between a stable install and an intermittent one.

Return wire orientation

H11A vs H11B can affect the beam pattern

HID bulbs use a return wire. If that wire sits in the wrong position inside the headlight, it can create a shadow or dark spot in the beam. This is especially important on H11-style applications where H11A and H11B orientation may differ.

Projector, reflector, high beam, fog light, and Hyundai/Kia-style exceptions can all affect return-wire orientation. The H11A/H11B and H7A/H7B guide explains how the return wire should sit in the housing.

Before you order

Confirm the vehicle setup first

This Mopar-specific kit is built for sensitive 2015+ Mopar headlight circuits that need more than a generic HID kit. Standard HID kits, standard CANBUS ballasts, and generic relay harnesses are not the same setup.

HID upgrades may be intended for off-road, show, auxiliary, or permitted-use applications only depending on the vehicle, product, and local laws. Check local laws before using upgraded forward lighting on public roads.

Use the Shop by Vehicle tool, review the Morimoto installation guides, or contact BRI Source support for setup help before ordering.
